Today it's raining cats and dogs so I'm sharing some old photos. I suspect you won't mind as the location (Kravice Falls, BiH) is stunning.
Danas pada kiša kao iz kabla, pa ću podijelit neke stare slike. Mislim da vam neće smetat jer je lokacija ( slapovi Kravice u Hercegovini) uistinu prekrasna.

All your comments mean a lot to me, even the criticism. Naravno da mi puno znači što ste uzeli vrijeme da nešto napišete, pa makar to bila i kritika. Per me le vostre parole sono sempre preziose anche quando si tratta di critiche.
Hello! In this post, I'll share a book recommendation. The Heart of a Woman is a memoir by Maya Angelou. The events she describes in this book take place between 1957 and 1962 and in that sense this book is a continuation of her previous memoirs. I do admire her courage when it comes to blending literature with autobiography. It is not an easy task and only a few have really gotten away with it. To narrate one's life, any period of it, in such an intimate way demands great courage, but turning that narration into a literature takes a kind of discipline and self restraint only great writers have, thought people generally don't realize how hard writing on this level really is. Years ago, I found a quote by Maya that really moved me but instead of looking her up immediately, I decided to wait. My intuition told me that a book by her will arrive at the perfect moment. Having read doctor Martin Luther King's autobiography earlier this year put many events in context.
Hello, there! In this post, I'll show you around Stobreč, a charming historical village that has become a tourist resort. Located between Split city and Podstrana , this little village is a wonderful destination for a stroll or a day at the beach. It's actually been inhabited since the ancient times. Starting its life as a Greek colony, this village is genuinely historical. It's so closely tied to Split city, you can hardly tell where one ends and the other begins. In fact, administratively Strobreč is a part of Split city. Regular readers of my blog will remember that Split is actually my hometown. I grew up thinking of Stobreč as a part of Split city. As it develops, it might become more independent, but one can also think of it as suburbs of Split city. I've been to Stobreč a number of times, sometimes for a coffee date and sometimes for live music. A lot of people from Split and Podstrana love to come here to have drinks in the evening or to stroll around in the d
Hello there, lovely people! I hope you're staying in and staying safe. In my last post, I blogged about different fashion related things you can do while in corona virus self-isolation or lock-down . One of the things I pointed out is taking this opportunity to become more sustainable in your fashion choices. I suggested shopping your closet, trying out new looks with the clothes you already own and creating a visual diary (or a folder) with clothing items and outfits you like. If something works for you, why not capitalize on it, especially when it is also beneficial for the environment? HOW MANY TIMES YOU SHOULD WEAR AN ITEM TO MAKE IT SUSTAINABLE? Today I'll show you what I like to do to make my fashion choices more sustainable- and that is getting the maximum wear out of an item. So, for a while now I've been creating these 'X ways to wear an X items' posts. These kind of posts take a lot of time to make, because I have to browse my old blog posts and hu
Hello! In this post, I'll share a sustainable baby blue and leopard spring styling. A pale blue might not be the first choice with leopard, but why not? For me leopard print is sort of a classic. I actually love to pair it with all kinds of colours, from more vibrant ones to pales ones. In the past, I paired it with cobalt blue . I definitely do not feel that leopard should be worn only with neutral colours. I mean I paired leopard with white, grey and black clothing items often enough, but I love to pair it with something that pops, be it a coloured or pattern item. I do love patterns. So, it's not surprising that I love to mix patterns. Back to my baby blue & leopard outfit. I wore it for an outing and I really enjoyed it. The best about is that it is sustainable. What do I mean by sustainable? Well, I mean that I not only shopped my closet, but wore most of these items more than thirty times. Mostar is so beautiful in Spring, isn't it? I love strolling the city an
Hello, there! In this post, I'll share some of my hiking experiences on Malta island. I visited Malta a few years ago, but besides sharing one oil pastel sketch drawing , I haven't blogged about my visit at all. I guess that the time to talk about Malta has finally come. Today is the first of May and that means that as an educator I have a day off. Yes, I don't have to go to work. So, I have some time to put this post together. While I was pondering what to start with, I decided that I should do a Malta series. I might as well since all I wanted to write about definitely won't fit into a single post! What should I open my series on Malta with? Well, I opted for hiking. One of the things I enjoyed most while visiting Malta was hiking. I hiked both alone and with my friend. Today I'll share photographs from a hike we did, exploring Malta's fascinating landscape and cliffs. I was both surprised and delighted to see these cliffs. It's something I would expe

If you remember in my last posts I shared a seascape sketch with you. Today I will show you the completed version. I did complete this watercolour pencil sketch the same day I started it. There was also a version I made with oil pastels. In case anyone is wondering, I don't have these two with me anymore. I shipped some of my art to one (amateur) art gallery yesterday. The watercolour landscape I'm sharing with you today was among the paintings sent while the pastel version of this scene was sent to a friend. Both of them were sketched on a lovely sunny day on Firule beach in Split (it has gotten colder in the meantime). I have actually only had that one day at the beach so far. WATERCOLOUR PENCILS- THE FINISHED VERSION The version with watercolour pencils turned out alright, but I think I might do another one. Isn't it interesting how different this landscape looks once water is applied to it? As I explained, I might do another version of this landscape some time in th
Have I saved the best for last? I'll let you be the judge of that. This is my third and last post (links for the first one and the second one ) from Peć Mlini and today I'll show you the spring of the river Tihaljina. This freshwater spring is absolutely beautiful. I was even fortunate enough to see a freshwater crab there, but unfortunately I don't know its scientific name. In vain I researched the internet, the name of this freshwater crab will remain a mystery to me. Nevertheless, it is another indication of how pure this water really is. Perfect place for a swim, my friends assured me! Do you remember my posts about Trebižad river? Anyhow, according to wikipedia, because of the fact that Trebižad river disappears and reappears many times, people have developed a total of nine names for it.In the past they didn't know it is one and the same river. Tihaljina is just one of those names. Isn't that fascinating? Another fascinating information is that the
My Sights to see, places to visit feature would surely be missing something if I didn't include this little village Goranci in the list of places to visit. This charming little village is situated in the vicinity of Mostar. I love to go there to espace the city heat. If you are into cycling, you'd be happy to hear that you can rent a bike for free. You just need to leave your ID in the restaurant Goranci and you can take the bike. There is a wonderful cycling and pedestrian walk so be sure to check it out. As of recently, there is also a beautiful park at your disposal. This park is growing daily as new things are added to it(toys for kids and that sorts of stuff). If you look closely, you'll be able to see that some decorative trees are still being planted at the enterance to this park. You can read some of my previous posts about this village here , here and here . Moja rubrika Znamenitosti za vidjeti, Mjesta za posjetiti ne bih bila potpuna bez Goranaca, malog
